Access to Education Severely Compromised

In Lebanon, going to school is becoming harder every year. As of 2024, more than half of Syrian refugee households reported their children were not attending school. Costs for transportation and supplies are too high, and many children must work to help their families survive. In the south, many schools are closed due to the war, leaving thousands of children with no classroom to go to. Even when schools are open, attendance drops sharply as children get older, with many leaving education entirely by age 15 or 16.
