Rising Psychosocial Distress

Children here are carrying heavy emotional burdens. Reports show nearly half of the children in the South Governorate suffer from anxiety, and about one-third show signs of depression. This is worse for Palestinian children, who also worry for family in Gaza and the West Bank. The constant stress of war, displacement, and poverty leaves children fearful, sad, and unable to focus. Without safe spaces to express these feelings, their mental and emotional health continues to suffer.
